Greetings from @mediaChick, your amiable Beer and Blog Portland Chapter Provost. I’ve got some really great news for you: Beer and Blog attracts hot women! This fact was revealed at the Portland Beer and Blog team meetup earlier this week. It was a cozy group of four: Justin Kistner, Christine Kistner, Kelly Guimont and little ol’ me. We get together to brainstorm event ideas and world domination strategies. (Bet you didn’t know we actually have meetings and, you know…plan stuff. In advance.) We also share conversations we have with the bloggers who join us Friday nights. This is the part of the evening when Justin (Mr. Beer and Blog) mentioned the hot women at Beer and Blog. Specifically, he said someone told him “there are a lot of hot women here!” I imagine this said with a face that could only be described as: incredulous, with a dollop of gratitude. @mediachick, @missburrows, @camikaos, @verso and a happy @turoczy at Beer and Blog And you know, the rest of us at the table had to agree. There are a lot of females these days at Beer and Blog, and their hotness runs the gamut. Geeky girls, artist girls, and writer girls. Girls who bake and knit and grow their own food and wrangle ones and zeros AT THE SAME TIME. Girls who hike and take photos and challenge themselves by completing every single Life Hacker: Weekend Project. Let it be said, the ratio is still wonky: more boys than girls. But it’s a nice thing for THIS girl to think about: Women of Beer and Blog. Here’s a short train-of-thought list of ladies I’ve seen at the Portland, Oregon Beer and Blog. (I won’t link to them — I  have a life, you know.) @verso @camikaos, @missburrows, @lollyrae, @saydawn, @geekygirldawn, @spinnerin, @thisKat, @selenamarie, @melissalion, @irene_s @crunchysue, @caseorganic, @hundreddollar, @morganpdx, @cecivirtue, @mizd, @NycoHerzog, @StephStricklen, @msamye, @emailstine, @PDXsays, @betsywhim, @djtv, @Colemangirl, @katiejr, @JeanAnnVK, @skinny, @CarriBugbee, @evacatherder, @Seeger, @lilbutterfly, @kiala, @radiogretchen…and @mediaChick. Plus I’m sure, many more. (Ladies, if I’ve missed you, please add yourself to this list in the comments.) Very nice selection of all makes and models of very lovely women. A few of us will be even be featured in the 2010 Get Naked for a Cause charity calendar (available now). Yes, me. Plus @verso, @camikaos and @colemangirl. (Perhaps Mr. and Mrs. Beer and Blog, Justin and Christine, will be in the 2011 edition?) Hot women at Beer and Blog, indeed. Also, bloggers talking about blogs, over beer. Join us? (Don’t miss our presentations, now at 4pm. Tonight is the demo for VidoopConnect. Show up and get a free account and free beer on behalf of Vidoop!) RSVP on Upcoming and Calagator

VidoopConnect http://www.justinkistner.com/lifestream/items/view/430/vidoopconnect

Vidoop would like to buy a round of beers and tell you about a sweet project they have been working on. Here’s their official statement: Have you signed into a site or made a blog comment yet just by logging in with your Facebook account through Facebook Connect? Sexy and intuitive, isn’t it? Makes you wonder why the majority of sites still require you to create clunky usernames and passwords, just for them. Well, with VidoopConnect, we make any site’s login process sexy, and let the users choose how they want to sign in. Like to use your email address with Google, Yahoo!, AOL, or ANY old email address? Cool. Prefer to use your Facebook or MySpace account? Go for it. Do you follow the Aaron Hockley method and prefer to only sign up on sites that accept OpenID? Got it covered. Even if you sign in with your Gmail account on one site but decided to use the Facebook signin for another, with our single profile capability, we’ll detect that and default the signin method you prefer when you return to any site using VidoopConnect. For our customers, a better user experience during the registration and login process makes for more registrations and better membership retention rates. We also offer reporting capabilities to sites implementing VidoopConnect so that they can see who their users are, how they’re logging in, and can react to their customers’ needs better. It’s easy to implement and unlike our competitors, we offer a solution based on open rather than proprietary standards. This has been our top secret baby for a couple of months now, so we’re really excited that on Friday at Beer and Blog we’ll be able to show the product in action. There will even be a round of drinks on us. Please note, that we’re doing our presentations now at 4pm. Not only is the beginning of Beer and Blog the only time you can hear, but people will continue talking about the presentation into the night, so even if you can’t make 4pm, you won’t miss the talk.
